That is a sincere confession from an American tourist. She was confused because she was stuck in Vietnam by the Covid-19 epidemic from the beginning of 2020 but after a few months, everything changed…
Channels Things On The Road accidentally met tourist Brigette in Mui Ne. According to Brigette, she lives in Chicago and moved to Vietnam in February 2020. Although only intended to stay in Vietnam for 3 months, Brigette was stuck in Vietnam for a long time because of the pandemic. This led to a big decision: Brigette would stay in Vietnam and had no plans to return to the US.

Brigette said she was “stuck in Vietnam” for 14 months. After so much experience, she quit her job and has a desire to settle in Vietnam for a long time. As soon as the epidemic situation is under control, Brigette plans to return to Chicago, spend a month there to visit relatives and pack up and then return to Vietnam.

On her Instagram page, Brigette has recorded a lot about her thoughts and feelings when visiting some famous destinations in Vietnam. From Saigon, Hoi An to Mui Ne, Da Lat… this solo traveler has all arrived.

Brigette said: “The world out there is chaotic, so to speak. But in Vietnam, everything is still the same and I feel at peace here. Photo: Brigette in Ninh Binh.
Brigette is currently working on a book about her solo travel experiences in Vietnam. She said that traveling alone in a foreign country makes her stressed, especially when she is a female. However, Brigette realized that the fears she initially raised were not real in Vietnam. Although there were still troubles, they did not bother Brigette, but on the contrary, made her stronger and more brave in her journey to discover Vietnam.
Wishing Brigette health and happiness, and to borrow her words to end this article: “The world is scary, but also contains miracles. Just get out of your initial comfort zone, you will find that you are open…”
