The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic made economic sectors fall into turmoil, in which the tourism industry was directly and severely affected.
According to statistics of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, more and more technological solutions for tourism are being applied, strongly developed and suitable for the situation of social distancing. Electronic trading platforms on tourism such as ivivu.com, mytour.vn, tripi.vn… are increasingly effective. The trend of developing technology application in tourism has become inevitable.

For travel businesses in Phu Yen, almost 100% of 3-5 star hotels, travel agencies, restaurants all have websites and fanpages to introduce and promote products. All units apply online sales and payment and participate in a number of tourism electronic exchanges such as Agoda, Booking…
In addition, the tourism industry of Phu Yen province also shows that the source of domestic tourists is the driving force for the tourism industry to quickly recover. During the last holiday of April 30 – May 1, the number of visitors to Phu Yen increased dramatically with 24,300 guests. Tourist accommodation establishments welcome 16,100 guests. Visitors to special national monuments such as Ganh Da Dia, Thap Nhan, Bai Mon reached nearly 31,000 turns. In April alone, the total number of tourists to Phu Yen reached 97,230 turns and the coastal accommodation facilities were almost empty during the holiday.
However, after information about the fourth wave of Covid-19 outbreak broke out, localities in the country applied restrictive measures, so the number of tourists who canceled or delayed the tour accounted for a large proportion.
Mr. Dam Dai Huu, Director of Dai Huu Travel Co., Ltd. said that the unit only performed more than half of the tours, the rest was canceled or postponed by customers when there was information about the outbreak again.
The domestic market is a market with great potential. Therefore, this is the time when localities and businesses need to orient and develop strategies for sustainable tourism development as well as create travel habits for people as an essential need.
Mr. Ho Van Tien, Chairman of Phu Yen Tourism Association shared, in the context that the travel between provinces has not been smooth for epidemic prevention, Phu Yen tourism businesses need to pay attention to building product packages that are large and small. in order to attract domestic tourists. At the same time, join hands to improve services, invest in rich products and be ready to reopen to welcome guests when the epidemic is under control.
